The kids are from both Grade 1 and 2. However, the Grade 2 children will not mix with the opposite sex.
'Ooooooew! Teacher', one girl said when I instructed her to ask a boy a question.
The Girls:
Quiet, heads down, concentrating on their work.
And, all on one side of the classroom.
Noisey, heads everywhere, avoiding their work.
And, on the other side of the room.
The Cambodian Assistant Teacher tries her best to keep the boys under control. She does a great job.
I've now introduced colour teams - both girls and boys - in the hope of getting some healthy cooperation.
On Monday we start working in these groups.
There will be a lot of 'Oooooooew teacher!'
