The Diamond Island bridge where so many young Cambodians died in a stampede during the Water Festival was reopened recently by Phnom Penh's governor, Kep Chuktema.
Monks blessed the bridge before crossing it to show that it was safe.
The governor, though, arrived and left using another bridge; he didn't set foot upon the cursed structure. No surprise then that most Cambodians have no intention of using the bridge any time soon.
