Hun Sen Han Sen

A Copy of the Letter written by  Han Sen-
a man who should know better.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, or, more correctly, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen (The Great Honorable Lord Grand Hun Sen), has a brother called Han Sen.

Brother Han heads some minor government agency, but considers himself highly important.

Late last year two of Han Sen's mates went to a restaurant and allegedly sexually harassed a young waitress. The plucky young lady is pressing charges and an investigation is under way.

Han Sen, however, doesn't like to see his friends in any sort of trouble. So, having either lost his moral compass, or never having had one in the first place, he used his political power in an attempt to sway the court to drop the harassment charges.

“I would like to request that you, brother prosecutor, please help intervene and aid Oum Socheat and Thong Pisith to put an end to the Nov. 13, 2011 accusation made by a waitress in a Stung Treng restaurant,” wrote the Prime Minister's brother.

Han Sen doesn't claim he was at the restaurant so clearly he wouldn't have any idea as to whether his friends were groping the young woman.

Instead he attempts to pervert the course of justice by using his influence and delivering his pleading letter. A letter in which he offered the ridiculous defense that his friends couldn't possible be guilty because they wouldn't have harassed the waitress while others were at the table; anyone who has seen a pack of self-important drunk Cambodian men at a restaurant would know that the presence of others would, if anything, spur them on.

Meanwhile, the brave young waitress, Hy Theavy, is standing by her accusation despite fears for her safety. The odds are stacked heavily against her.
