After a well-deserved kick-up-the-bum by Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, the Interior Ministry has relented. They will now issue Mong, the under-twelve paper airplane champion of Thailand, with his documentation.
Mong is going to Japan! That's excellent news and naturally he is excited.
"I am delighted to get permission to travel. I'd like to thank Thais for their support. I also would like them to get behind my effort to win the prize," Mong said.
Mong, may not yet know it, but he has a bigger challenge on the horizon; Thai champ or not, Mong is still a stateless child born to Burmese labourers and thus he is due to be repatriated to Burma next February.
