A common sight in Thailand, the San Phra Phum, or Spirit house, is adorned with offerings such as flowers, fruits, replica animals, cooked chicken, candles and burning incense. And sometimes for the really lucky celestial being, whisky is left for it at the spirit house. The San Phra Phum is intended to provide shelter and sustenance for spirits which, if not pleased, are likely to get up to all sorts of michief. What a spirit that has over-indulged in whisky gets up to, I have no idea. The San Phra Phum pictured here is a good example of an 'average' Spirit House and it sits at the top of our village.
