Cambodian Mental Health Care Woefully Deficient (2)

Following on from the 'Cambodian Mental Health Care Woefully Deficient' post two days ago, a recent study in the kingdom confirms the dire need for more mental health experts in this country.

The study shows that the number of Cambodian citizens who show symptoms of post-trauma is, at 2.7 per cent of the population, seven times higher than the world average.

And those Cambodians with suicidal tendencies is believed to be three times higher than the world average.

Just nine health care centres capable of dealing with mental health patients can be found in this country.
