Phnom Penh Relax Time? Getting Things done in Cambodia: Part 1

You  need  more cable TV channels when:
1. The 62 you have are predominantly rubbish.
2. You crave more English- hopefully British- programming
3. Flicking through 62 channels isn't enough, more are required.


Friday 11.30am: into PPCTV's office to set things up

Me: "Can I change from my old cable TV provider and install your cable TV network please?'"

Only person in the office: "Yes...but not now. You have come at the wrong time."


Me: "Wrong time?"

Woman: "Yes...it is relax time, come back after 2pm."

Me: "No, no I have come now to set up your service, you are open aren't you?!"

Woman: "Hmmm...yes...OK....(big sigh)." 
A guard walks through with newly bought food from the street, eyeing me curiously.
"I will take your details but no one can help you until after 2pm. I will ring you then. 
What is your number?"

Me: "o9o...".

Woman: "No, no, no...Beeline is no good. Another number?"

Me: "That's my only number."

Woman: "(big sigh) OK, OK I will ring you later!"
