Recently Bloomed

 “Most of Cambodian people love orchid, but they can not afford, because it so expensive. I never see people get out the motocycle to buy my orchid. I just see they get off car”, she said with a smile.

And expensive they are- costing at least two dollars a pop they are out-of-reach for most Cambodians. Part of the reason for that is almost all orchids are imported from Thailand.That's bound to change as the middle-class here expands and it becomes profitable to grow them here.


In the meantime we are lucky; the price isn't prohibitive for us and so we get to look at this recently-bloomed beauty.
