Phnom Penh Rain - a chance to wash
The sheer force of the rain means that it is a great chance to get outside your front gate and - wash!
That is, wash anything and everything.
Wash yourself, wash the clothes that you are wearing, wash any other clothes, wash your bicycle, wash your motorbike, and then wash any kitchen utensils that haven't been attended to yet. All washing is done in large round aluminium basins.
Down our street the washing is undertaken at lightning pace. This is due to the fact that the clouds may disperse at any moment and the rain will be no longer.
