So far most of this blog has been about Thailand which may seem strange seem as our focus is Cambodia. It's difficult though to write regularly about a country when you are not living there yet and besides, Thailand is our home at the moment and we are loving it!
The Cambodian move is approaching quickly however and it won't be long before we are into the ugly nitty-gritty of moving house. In the meantime we often flick through our photos to remind ourselves why we are up-rooting and crossing the border. Here are some shots from our most recent trip.
I think it is pretty amazing, the things that you are all doing there; making the move to Cambodia. This is something which I have been longing to do. I have been searching for opportunity like this to make a difference in the lives of others. However, most time I hit 'brick wall' because I am not a native English Speaker. In anyway, all the best to your move toward Cambodia and making a positive change in the lives of these girls and other children in Cambodia.
ReplyDeleteHi there BK!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment.
I am surprised that not being a native-speaker would hold you back.
After teaching in Thailand I can tell you that most English teachers here aren't native-speakers; most are Filipino and there are many from Germany, Poland,Nepal and African countries.
I'm sure that you will find the right niche for yourself...look forward to hearing from you again.
Philip
Hi Philip,
ReplyDeleteYes, most sites, where I frequent for teaching opportunities, always stated Native speaker from UK, US, Australia etc as the criteria. Occasionally I would see some asking for Filipino. Yes, I believe that I will find the right niche for me too. Thank you.
