It is amazing what can be attached to a motorcycle...here we have bugs on the move!
The street looked quiet, that was promising, so I rushed out to stop my local creepy-crawly vendor as he sped past.
Soon though, neighbours appeared from nowhere and everywhere. Falang! Falang! (foreigner) they yelled, alerting others to come and have a look at what promised to be some free street entertainment.
Aloi 'delicious' they said. But I could tell by the look on their faces that they were solely focused on getting me to try the bugs. A Falang eating bugs? That would be fun to see. They suggested I try first...'No no', I said, 'I will take 20 baht's worth of whatever you suggest'.
Gleefully, they pointed to the biggest and ugliest bugs in the display cabinet, they looked like massive grasshoppers...'gee thanks', I said.

Dai dai 'Can try...can try', they urged. Here we go...I put the grasshopper to my mouth not knowing which, the legs, or the eyeless head, should go first. I decided on the legs. In it went...'Ohhhh...' I said, 'crunchy, and a hint of chilli'.
The Bugman, laughing, handed me my 20 baht bag. The gathered crowd looked slightly disappointed; they expected more entertainment than this!
Next time though, I might choose the slugs...less body parts to deal with!
