I find secret places in Bangkok and my local soi- street- where I can indulge in the most delicious roast pork and chicken, corn-on-the-cob freshly cooked on a coal fire, lashings of Pad Thai and sweet mango with coconut sticky rice. But when I return to this same secret find a few days later, it has gone, with no trace of it ever having existed. 
Where do they go? Mot Lao 'finished' bystanders chorus.
But finished for how long...a day...a week...a month? Nobody seems to know.
