Most mornings we drink a cold coffee from a can. It's not the best but when there isn't a cafe nearby and you need a caffeine blast it hits the spot. The two corner stores in our village sell two brands; Birdy and Nescafe. Strangely, though, Ann is never allowed to buy two cans of the same brand. Should she pull out two Nescafe cans from the fridge both store-owners will shake their heads and send her on her way with one can of each. Want two Birdies? Same result. Every time.
Just another of Thailand's little mysteries. It's almost enough to make you drink tea.
